Summary: The thoughts after the darkness. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - softly come the spiders darkstar krycek point of view post-Existence - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Softly come the spiders, gliding silver-black through the dark, wrapping in silk shrouds my newly fallen shoul. Softly comes the silence when the heartbeat fades away; I have never been afraid of dead sound, but neither have I been dead to soun. Softly, softly, comes the darkness. Softly dies the light. Softly come the spiders, sinking fangs into a paralyzed mind, dissolving the thoughts; no dead men are sane. Softly comes the fall when the earth spins out form beneath; The starlight burns fleshless hands or is this just the memory of flame? Softly, softly comes the madness. Softly dies the mind. Softly come the spiders, siphoning the memories from their shells, gorged fat on life until only the rind remains. Softly comes the regret, the feeble attempt to reconstruct her face; a thousand liquid images of eyelids and irises and curves of lips in shadow. Softly, softy comes the emptiness. Softly dies the past. (Dance, dance for me, Salome and let us see once more who is slave and who is free and I hope I swear I pray that it is you....) Softly, softly, come the spiders. Softly now, I die.
